Topics for the Chinese Oral video-based conversation have generally been set in one of three contexts — home, school, or the community (public spaces) — that P6 students are familiar with. Questions come in three types: describe what happened in the video, interpret what it means, and connect it to your own experience and values.
To do well in this component, the best preparation is regular practice speaking aloud your "describe – interpret – connect" response to everyday encounters at home, in school, and in the community.
Today is the day of the actual exam, so don't cram new "topics" or try to memorise new vocabulary you haven't learnt. Listen carefully to the examiner's questions, take a moment to gather your thoughts, then respond confidently with your ideas. Remember to elaborate and include personal examples if relevant.
